Since the downturn in the economy she has turned her attention to helping individuals through difficult career, financial and lifestyle transitions. Her new book, Upside: How to Zig when Life Zags, co-authored with Allison Blankenship, provides solutions and strategies for sustainable success. Her new workshops, speeches and retreats expand on the topic and focus in depth on creating a career and personal life that is sustainable during changing times.
Ms. Michaels combines first hand knowledge, practical ideas and inspiration for her presentations. As a trained actress, she brings outstanding speaking skills to her many platform speeches and training programs. She has delivered hundreds of programs across the globe. (See Speaking List)

Ms. Michaels walks the talk to maintain her own balance. In 2000 she took a year-long renewal journey volunteering, studying Flamenco and experiencing alternative lifestyles. This life-changing journey greatly influenced her current and more sustainable lifestyle on which she writes and speaks.
As a local and national activist, she is on the executive board for Take Back Your Time and volunteers at the Conservancy of SW Florida, League of Women Voters, the Naples Press Club and environmental networks. Over the last two decades, she has been a member of the National Speakers Association, Association of Training and Development, the Society for Human Resources, Women in film/Chicago, and the SW Florida Brandeis Chapter and World at Work. She is on the Women Bureau’s Working Women Honor Roll.
Ms. Michaels has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern University, Montessori Certification, and has taken continuing education courses in business management, training, communication, psychology, and film. She is passionate about Flamenco dancing and hiking. She is married with three children and seven grandchildren.
